## API reliability and versioning

- The public discovery surface is read-only and returns JSON errors with `code`, `message`, `status`, and `resolution` fields when a request cannot be served.
- Authenticated workspace write requests use an `Idempotency-Key`; long-running analysis work is queued with durable status and requires a customer session.
- `/api/v1` is the versioned workspace boundary. Breaking changes use a new major path; deprecations are announced with `Deprecation` and `Sunset` headers before removal.

## Operating boundaries

- Genvernium does not silently publish website changes or send external communications.
- External actions require the applicable customer authorisation and an auditable approval.
- Results can be incomplete, stale, or incorrect; they are decision-support information, not a guarantee of rankings, citations, traffic, or revenue.
- Do not submit passwords, private keys, API tokens, payment-card data, or other secrets.

## Agent onboarding

- Self-serve API key generation for agents: POST https://genvernium.com/api/v1/onboarding; returns a short-lived sandbox-only onboarding token with scope sandbox.read and no customer workspace access.
- Sandbox/test environment: GET https://genvernium.com/api/v1/sandbox; deterministic synthetic read-only fixture.
- Zero-auth access: the sandbox and public discovery resources require no API key, OAuth token, account, or payment.
